Prepare for the Exam
All documents and videos needed to pass the exam are in the Study List below.

The Exam Study List
The order in which these documents are listed provides a recommended order in which it is suggested that they be read and studied. The material goes from basic to more involved, and from general to more specific.
Each of the study list items that are on the exam have a document reference number, consisting of capital letters and a numeral (e.g. PEN1).
The documents that are listed (indented) as “Reference” are not on the exam, but they will help you to better understand and remember the study documents. The IFC highly recommends that you go through as many of those as possible, right after the study item listed just above the reference(s).
The documents that are listed (indented) as “Additional Information” will allow you to obtain additional depth of knowledge and understanding of the study list items just above. They are not on the exam. These are provided for those students who choose to learn more than just the basics needed to pass the exam, and move towards being greater experts in the field of firestopping. It’s your choice to review as many of those as you’d like.
